Raukele win reserve grade premiership

CS Engineering Raukele Green are the champions of the Port Moresby Cricket Association competition after defeating Coasters Lions in grand final of the reserve division on Sunday.
Lions batted first and recorded 125 runs off 30 overs at Amini Park.
Raukele reached the target with an impressive 128 runs off 17 overs.
Raukele president Dean Ani told The National that he was impressed with his reserve team for winning all their matches, including the grand final.
They are the first team in the association to record 15 consecutive wins.
“It was a great win,” Ani said.
“It was expected that Raukele were full of confidence as they went on to make it 15 wins from as many matches.
“To remain undefeated all season is an awesome achievement
“It’s a first for Raukele since I have been at the helm of the club.”
Raukele Green won the toss and captain Kila Pala chose to field first.
Boosted by former Papua New Guinea Barramundis bowler Inoa Baeau, Raukele comfortably took three early wickets after the third over.
His swinging deliveries caused Lions batsmen problems.
Veteran Tony Alu and Ephraim Gaudi led Raukele’s run chase. The pair delivered 43 and 64 runs respectively. Hoge Henao scored 20 runs.
