RECOGNIZING employers in their efforts on employee contributions is important for superannuaion companies like Nasfund.
Chief officer for member services Charlie Gilichibi said yesterday that the annual award ceremony would take place in Port Moresby tonight with six categories.
The employers award is an initiative taken by the fund to acknowledge the cooperation and partnership of Nasfund contributing employers.
The Annual Employer Awards acknowledges the best performing employers who have complied with the Superannuation (general provisional) Act 2000, especially section (85) and (90) of the Superannuation (general provisional) Act 2000, that governs the contributions and benefit of payments which the fund as the trustee is mandated to perform.
Award winners will be announced at tonight’s the 2019 Employer Awards gala event.
The six awards category include: most compliant employer – mandatory contributions; best voluntary contributions award; most compliant account maintenance award; most compliant benefit Payments award; best voluntary contributing employer (Below 15); and, Nasfund Chairman’s award – best overall employer.
Nasfund strategy coordinator Turaho Morea said recognising employers was important.
“When we are managing members’ funds especially to do with our over 500,000 members, we want to make sure that we do everything right and receiving contributions on a fortnightly, monthly basis,” he said.
“We need to make sure that our systems and processes are in place and effectively and efficiently on our hand.
“When we have employers who are doing the right thing, it is not just high performance for them but making our jobs easier so that we can, be a lot efficient in delivering whatever jobs that we can for the benefit of our members.”
