PUMA Energy has reopened its new-look Waigani service station in Port Moresby after a facelift which took three months.
Puma Energy country general manager Hulala Tokome said refurbishing a service station cost close to K4 million.
It is the first service station to be unveiled this year following their Hohola service station in Port Moresby and Eriku service station in Lae, Morobe.
Tokome said the service station now offered customers faster modern pumps that could fill tanks twice a fast as the old pumps used at the station.
“Waigani service station is a key company owned retail site in the country and we have upgraded by applying Puma’s latest global standards, which is to upgrade selected retail sites as part of our ongoing programme to modernise and expand our network of 100 service station around the country,” he said.
“We will continue to invest in upgrading selected retail sites throughout the country, in collaboration with our SME (small to medium enterprise) partners.
“PNG citizens deserve world class standards and a fantastic customer service experience through our retail partners and this is what we envision to achieve.”
Tokome said Puma, through its service station network, had been partnering with SMEs to develop the country’s small business sector and had over 400 SME partners in the retail and Pumas gas business.
