Remove filthy,illegal markets

Letters

I COMMEND the metropolitan superintendent for the move to clean up the city now.
Where does National Capital District Commission come in as a partner?
City hall officials have gone into hibernation with no definite strategy to contain the filth, especially the red sea of spittle.
Therefore, I suggest that all police station commanders instigate foot beats during the day and night or issue bicycles with officers monitoring their men in vehicles.
Next, remove these illegal sites in the Waigani/Hohola/Gordon area:

  •  BETEL nut trade opposite TST at Hohola, do not use Siera 301 because they are compromised so many times;
  •  CHECK out Vulupindi Haus and the back of the former National Aids Council secretariat office;
  •  THE area between Kina Bank Waigani and Daltron and the Nambawan Bookmakers; and,
  •  THE front of BSP Islander and on the other side of the road and the bus stop towards Hohola.

I am providing this information because the enforcers are not walking, which has an element of surprise but rather opt to be comfortable in their vehicles.
I might add here that some officers have overgrown tummies too.
Metropolitan Supt, do strategise your plan of action.
