Repair underway on damaged cables

TELIKOM PNG workers are repairing copper and fiber cables at the Nadzab exchange in Morobe which were damaged by vandals recently.
Lae branch manager Mathew Passingan said the damage was huge and it would take 10 days to restore the cables. The copper and fiber cables carry fixed-line voice and internet.
“It’s quite a big job. We have a team currently working but that would depend on the weather – if it’s dry for cable and copper appliances to be restored,” Passingan said.
He urged the people relying on the Nadzab exchange for their patience while restoration work was being carried out.
