Repentance Day supported

Letters

I AM writing to clarify The Watcher’s letter (Sept 10) denouncing Repentance Day as a waste of time.
Papua New Guinea was the first nation on this planet to be declared a covenant nation and that was formally sealed by former Prime Minister Grand Chief Sir Michael Somare on our behalf.
It is a prototype event and Heaven agrees in the scriptures to what our prime minister did at that time.
Heaven agrees that Aug 26 of every year will be set aside as a time of tithing to God.
It is a day of repentance on behalf of our leaders, churches and all the people in this nation.
It is not meant as a political event but one in which we remember how God is using our leaders to change the history of this nation.
