MORE than 100 people attended a fundraising dinner for the People’s Republican Party at the Dynasty Seafood Restaurant in Port Moresbylast Friday.
The party is one of the newest to contest the 2012 general election.
Not all invited people, particularly members of parliament, turned up but the meal was enjoyed by the small number of grassroots people and members of the media who attended.
Founding father of the party Ronald Rimbao said although small and new, the party had big dreams for the country with an United States of America’s style of government.
He said it was time to change the structure of governance by enabling reforms and good policies.
He said the people should get more benefits such as introducing Australia’s doom policy  and the US as there would be more cash flow in the country with the current economic boom.
Rimbao said one of the party’s strong policies was to decentralise  power.
Rimbao said there was a need to empower the people and to eliminate poverty and corruption in society.
The country needs a good system of government which the party will provide if given the opportunity to rule, he added.
