Request for Australian police during counting

Letters

AS part of a strategy to counter undue influence during the counting process, I strongly suggest that the caretaker Government, with the support of the Opposition to make an immediate request for the deployment of the Australian Police Force (APF) to maintain the rule of law in all counting venues in the country.
Past experience has shown that our police force, including the two other security forces, always interfere or collude with counting officials to influence the outcome of the ballot counts, normally in favour of an influential candidate who has the money and goodies.
The burning down of the Papua New Guinea’s flag carrier Air Niugini is a clear message to the PNG Electoral Commission.
This is a result and a reminder of the importance of adherence to the rules during counting process.
It is in the counting centres that the dirty games start.
The integrity of our security personnel has been compromised and colluding and undue influence is bound to happen in this general election.
There are far more irregularities happening during the counting than in polling.
The deployment of the APF during counting period will definitely provide a layer of filtering of any illegal activities that might happen at the counting areas.
Let the APF be given the full mandate to oversee the operation of the counting in all venues in the country.
This is part of a free and fair election slogan.
Hence, the outcome of this suggestion will see good credible leaders being declared to represent their people.
If you a reading this comment please do your bit, act positively to have APF manned the counting centres before brief cases full of cash floods the counting venues.
