Resident judge calls on officials to step up another gear

Resident judge Ellenas Batari has urged the police, Correctional Service officers and lawyers in Kimbe, West New Britain, to work hard and be disciplined.
Speaking during the opening of the legal year recently, Justice Batari said Kimbe was a demanding place to work in due to different ethnic groups living there.
The judge said what concerned him most was the list of reported cases that continued to increase every year, unlike in the past.
He told the legal fraternity, including the police and CS officers, to be conscious of their duties all the time.
“Police and CS plus the legal fraternity will have to work harder. They have to discipline themselves first,” Justice Batari said.
He encouraged everyone to work together to solve the escalating law and order issues in the area.
