GRADES 10 and 12 results will be announced on Dec 8, Education Minister Jimmy Uguro says.
He told Port Moresby National School of Excellence’s (Pomnaths) 28th graduation in National Capital District on Friday: “Results will be published online, so you can know where your children and school’s positions are.
“The Education Department is also working on how to award the best-performing student, teacher and school in the country.”
Measurement services unit first assistant secretary Arulappan Packiam said they were still in the process of doing quality checks and entering data, ensuring correct marks were given to students accordingly.
“The unit is working very hard to ensure results are submitted to the secretary for publication as per the scheduled date,” Packiam explained.
Higher Education, Research and Science Technology Department acting secretary Fr Jan Czuba said earlier that tertiary students’ selections would be made when once Grade 12 examination results were received from the Education Department.
Meanwhile, Uguro said the Government was committed to supporting the six science, technology, engineering and mathematics (Stem) educational institutions in the country.
He presented K3 million each to Port Moresby and Sogeri National Schools of Excellence to support the Stem programme, with an additional K300,000 to Pomnaths for footpath maintenance.
