Reward Sepik people with development

Letters

I CALL on Prime Minister James Marape and his Cabinet, in light of the Grand Chief Sir Michael Somare’s passing, to award the people of Sepik impact projects as a token of appreciation for the grand chief’s contribution to the nation when he was prime minister.
Only through impact projects such as timber, mining and liquefied natural gas, the people of Sepik can keep up with the rest of Papua New Guinea in terms of development.
There are two major projects I want to highlight that are already in the process and need your undivided support and blessing.
These projects are Frieda gold mine and Sandaun oil and gas project under the Sandaun Petroleum Energy Development Ltd.
I call on the MPs of the two Sepik provinces to set aside their political differences, know their roles and work for the betterment of the greater Sepik.
Learn from Sir Michael’s charismatic style of leadership by putting people first.
I condemn the practice of some of our selfish MPs who play politics with development projects for their own gain.
The grand chief’s vision for this nation is to uphold and maintain democracy, be united as one people and to fairly distribute the wealth of this nation.
