RH goes to settlement bearing gifts to children

Rimbunan Hijau (RH) Trading donated about K10,000 worth of gifts to more than 100 children of the Tembari Care Centre at ATS settlement, outside Port Moresby, on Friday.
Each child received a package containing toys, clothes and food such as chocolate, biscuits and hamburgers.
It’s not every day that those children receive such gifts and their faces beamed with delight.
There was also a big cake to celebrate the closing of the school year.
Apart from the goodies, the company also gave 10 bales of clothes for distribution among the children, their parents and guardians in the settlement.
Joyce Lee, of Travel Planners, who donated the cake, said that since Christmas was near, it was time to share.
“You have to try it yourself to give and feel the joy in giving. Nothing can describe the feeling a person has when you give to the less fortunate when you see the smiles on their face”, Lee said.
Daneilla Tio, RH Trading’s human resources and administration manager, said that since she came to PNG 10 years ago, RH Trading had been donating goods to less fortunate children and they would continue doing it as part of their civil obligation.
The Tembari Care Centre started in 2010 to cater for children who live in settlements. There is also a school within the care centre that caters for children in the ATS area, from kindergarten up to grade 6.
The founder of the care centre, Hayward Sagembo, thanked RH Trading for having been the major sponsor of Tembari Care Centre since its establishment.
