Riots were brewing for a long time

Letters

THE unprecedented riots in Port Moresby and other main centres had been brewing for a long while.
It was waiting to rear its ugly head up and it did, although it could be just the tip of an iceberg.
This Government, despite blatant denial and feeble self-justification, was never truly sanctioned by the people of PNG and the highest God in the General Election 2022.
This government was never in the favourable eyes of God even if those in power use God’s name to justify their evil rule over the people.
For the Prime Minister to brush aside more than 10 deaths throughout the country as a direct result of the riots is inconsiderate, inhuman and ungodly.
Every life matters in the eye of God and so this government is responsible for the murder of those that died.
In other democracies such events would have culminated in the resignation of the Prime Minister. That is the most honourable and godly thing for any responsible leader to do.
I commend the seven MPS who acted conscientiously and selflessly in resigning from the government.
I hope others in the government follow their lead and unmask this government as a weak, ineffective and materialistic government, hell-bent on clinging to power.
How long can PNG pay the price for meekly submitting to suppressive, selfish self-serving egoistic leadership?
If the recent riots are any indication the longer this government stays in power the swifter the country disintegrates.
The most sensible thing to appease our people is for the Prime Minister to resign immediately and not prolong the suffering.
This country is for 10 million plus people, not one individual.
