THE Rigo Central netball tournament A-grade semifinals will be played at the Rita Flynn Courts today.
This will feature the top two teams from pool A and B, with unbeaten Kamali to take on Saroa and Keapara to face Kaparoko.
It was unfortunate that favourites Makerupu missed out on the playoffs.
Kamali and Keapara, who topped their respective pools, are likely to secure grand final spots.
The winners of both playoffs will qualify for the grand final in the afternoon.
PNG Netball umpires Helen Lawrence, Margaret Opina, Weka Pala and Susan Kakare were all outstanding in officiating the event.
Yesterday, the A-grade sides completed their pool matches, with the B-grade teams going into their playoffs after minor protest over player eligibility.
This had caused delay to sort the misunderstanding.
There were enough prospects to select from for the association’s senior and junior teams to represent Rigo at the national championships in Lae in September.
Rigo Netball Association president Iammo Launa said after the grand finals, train-on squads for the juniors and seniors would be announced to prepared for the championships.
