MAJOR road and power connectivity projects in Gumine, Chimbu, are to begin this week, says local MP Nick Kuman.
Speaking at a ground breaking ceremony in the district last week, Kuman said this included civil work on a 10.7-kilometre stretch of road costing K11 billion from Dirima to Gomgale and the installation of power lines from Kundiawa into Gumine.
“Phase one of the programme will see the road end at Gomgale,” he said.
“Phase two will be from Gomgale all the way to Orogaim.
“It will go through major rehabilitation.
“This is the border of Gumine and Karamui.
“It is an important link because the people of Chimbu want Karamui to open up.
“There is an important link into Karamui and this is where we will unlock and unleash the potential for agriculture in the Bomai LLG.
“The power project will come from Kundiawa to the polytech site and then to Boromil.
The power will come there and then from the polytech site, it will go back to the eastern end of the district.”
Kuman also told The National that the project was initially started off by the former MP.

    • I see that you are a shallow thinking person became you are not providing any better ideas or better alternatives for service delivery.

Andy, Gumine is in the Chimbu Province and not in your electorate on the SHP.
