Main Stories

SIX men with homemade guns held up a vehicle along Oro Bay Highway and stole K23,400 last week in Popondetta.
Provincial police commander Michael Welly, pictured, told The National that the incident occurred before Christmas when people were preparing for the festive period.
He said six men who were on the highway blocked the road and held up a man who was travelling from Popondetta to Eroro.
Welly said the victim did not sustain any injuries and was only robbed of cash and properties in the vehicle, which was yet to be recovered.
He said police were investigating.
Welly said local communities were working closely with the police to track down the suspects, who were in the province.
Police have already identified one of the six suspects.
