THE BMK Supermarket was robbed of K50,000 in takings on Saturday morning, Madang commander Supt Mazu Rubiang says.
“According to the Asian owner, eight men wearing face masks walked into the supermarket at 7.31am posing as customers and then held up his staff.
“According to a closed circuit TV footage, the robbers knew exactly where the supermarket’s takings were placed.
“They went straight for the cash, took it and fled,” he said.
“It sure looks like a planned heist”.
Supt Rubiang appealed to the public who know the robbers to contact the police with information.
He also called on youths involved in robberies to stop because “you will not make it in life”.
Supt Rubiang called on the parents of youths involved in criminal activities to warn their children to stop because one day they might die during a robbery because technology was improving and their criminal movement will be exposed.
