STUDENTS and staff of New Life Christian Primary School outside Port Moresby, along the Magi Highway, are pleased to see continuous support from a non-government organisation (NGO) since 2008.
The school opened its double classroom for grades four and five on Friday.
The new classrooms were funded by the Port Moresby Rotary Club.
Rotary Club director Adam Hughes said the idea of building the classroom came about after he had a conversation with the City Mission’s farm manager Peter Moody.
Hughes said the club donated two 40ft containers along with K25,000 which was to be used for the construction of a classroom.
Head teacher Helen Komes said the classroom would help their overcrowding problem.
Komes said the school, which was established in 2008, had students from kindergarten to elementary school but was looking to have students up to grade five.
Moody said he was pleased with to see NGOs assisting in educating children.
He said after the funding received from the club, the students from City Mission helped build the classroom.
