RUGBY superstar Will Genia is the new brand ambassador for Digicel PNG.

The Wallabies and Queensland Reds playmaker will be the face of Digicel over the next two years in its new product launches and other promotional activities.

The mobile phone company announced this during the launch of its Toyota Land Cruiser top-up promotion in Port Moresby yesterday.

Digicel’s chief operating officer Darren McLean said Genia was a great role model for young Papua New Guineas and a fantastic ambassador for the country.

The PNG-born Genia hails from Abau, Central.

“For us he embodies a lot of positivity in the brands and what Digicel is all about,” McLean said.

“We are excited to work with him and bring fans closer to their local hero.”

He said Genia’s first promotion was the Land Crusier top-up competition which started yesterday and would run for eight weeks.

McLean said customers who bought K2 or more phone top-up credits through Flex cards, EVD, Eftpos, P2P, BSP recharge or cellmoni would go into weekly draws to win eight Land Cruiser vehicles valued more than K100,000 each.

He said that there would also be two daily winners of free credits.

“This promotion is all about rewarding our customers for recharging with Digicel,” McLean said.

“The higher the value of the top-up, the more entries the customer receives.”
