Paying attention to shop-front advertisements by businesses has proven to be profitable for Mortein competition winner Nick Ruhukail.
Winners of the competition, which started last November, were drawn on Dec 28.
Ruhukail took out the first prize and was presented K10,000 on Tuesday.
He said his wife came across the advertisement in front of RH at Gordon. After they did their shopping, they dropped the receipt into the entry box.
“After that, we did two other entries but I forgot where,” he said.
“Christmas has just ended and there are some things that need to be done. This money just came at the right time. I am very happy.”
Ruhukail thanked the Market 2000-Australia Export Consortia for the opportunity given to him through the product promotion and competition.
Market 2000 PNG manager Judith Elijah said the company had promotional competitions annually.
One had to buy a Mortein, Pine O Clean, Airwick or Harpic product to enter.
Elijh said price range went from the lowest being the coil at K1.95 to the more-expensive products in the Reckitt Benkiser range which were premium Mortein products, Harpic and POC cleaning agents.
“The main aim of the competition was to promote our home and hygiene products in our Reckitts Benckiser Range because our purpose is to deliver healthier lives and happier homes,” she said.
“Approximately 2000 entries were collected from Port Moresby and Lae.
“There are seven major prizes and 10 consolation prizes. The K5000 second cash prize, third prize of Power Mate 3GF generator and sixth prize of travel vouchers went to winners from Lae.”
