SABL probe team should be investigated

THE special agriculture business leases (SABL) preliminary report is disgusting and sickening, to say the least.

Members of the investigating team are supposed to be professionals with strong legal background.

But the report they produced after almost two years, costing some K15 million, is poor.

The chairman is a former

chief magistrate and an experienced rugby league administrator while his colleagues have had outstanding achievements in the legal field.

Their combined expertise would have been more than sufficient to produce a thorough report based on results from excellent investigative work.

We expected a quality report.

Instead, we were given a summary touching only three out of the 18 terms of reference.

It is hard to imagine why the chief secretary to the government did not keep track of the investigation by at least requesting progressive reports.

I call on the government to investigate the members.
