NEW Moresby North West MP Lohia Samuel hopes to tap into the experience of his fellow National Capital District MPs to advance Motu Koitabu’s progress.
He was yesterday sworn in as a member of the National Capital District Commission board.
NCD Governor Powes Parkop said the election of Samuel was done at a time the Motu Koitabu people had cried out for a local leader to represent them in Parliament.
He said the people of the electorate had spoken through the ballot in the hope of better services reaching them.
Parkop told Samuel: “You have only eight months, however, I am sure you will ensure the people of Moresby North West will receive the services they need.”
Samuel said while he was a new kid on the block, he would be working closely with the seasoned MPs in Moresby South’s Justin Tkatchenko and Moresby North East’s John Kaupa.
“I will ensure I get as much support I can get to ensure service delivery occurs within an electorate that has much of the public offices and other services within its boundaries.”
He has forged a good relationship with board chairman Parkop and committed to collaborate in delivering services in the electorate.
