CHRISTIANS all over the world are preparing to celebrate Christmas with most people taking time off to go to their respective homes for a good time but not people who are in hospital.
There are very few people who are willing to care for them this festive season.
It is understood the day will be brightened for the children at the Alotau General Hospital with Santa Claus, who will dash into the ward this week, for an early celebration.
Santa will visit the children’s ward and share time with patients while giving gifts to the children.
Santa will be accompanied by the sponsor, Alotau International Hotel manager Miami Shome, the chief executive officer of the Alotau General Hospital Billy Naidi, provincial administrator Henry Bailasi and staff from the hotel who will sing Christmas carols.
Shome said this was part of the hotel’s community-orientated programme.
“We are proud to take the lead in celebrating Christmas with the children at the hospital,” he said.
It will hold a special Christmas night for children at the hotel, with entertainment for children.
The most eye-catching part of the night is the man in red and white who will be giving gifts to the children.
