EXCITEMENT spilled over in children at the Port Moresby General Hospital children’s ward when Santa visited them yesterday.
Thirty-three of them received gifts sponsored by the chamber of commerce and industry in Port Moresby.
During the occasion, president Rio Fiocco said the gifts were from their newer members Digicel, Black Swan, Brian Bell, Remington, City Pharmacy Ltd, NIU Net and Paradise Foods.
He said it was an yearly initiative for the new chamber members to give presents to the sick children at the wards to bring the spirit of Christmas to them.
“This visit is where we bring joy to the children in the true spirit of Christmas so we’re very pleased to come along today,” Fiocco said.
Port Moresby young chamber of commerce and industry president David Valentine said every year they gave out gifts to children and were grateful for the opportunity given to them yesterday.
“Today we are visiting ward 1D and the outpatient ward; it is amazing to do things like this for the children’s ward,” he said.
He said the gifts included toys, books, note books and food.
