MOROBE Governor Ginson Saonu is satisfied with the appointment of new provincial administrator Bart Ipambonj and is looking forward to working with him.
He said this yesterday following the appointment of Ipambonj by Cabinet two weeks ago.
Saonu said Ipambonj was a career public servant who had risen through the ranks on merit.
“I look forward to working with Ipambonj and the provincial administration,” he said.
“I express my gratitude to the National Executive Council for selecting Ipambonj as the administrator.
“I look forward to working with the PM, NEC and Ipambonj to close the 25-year development gap in Morobe, while concurrently implementing government policies and programmes.”
Saonu said Ipambonj served Morobe for the past 34 years and had in-depth knowledge of its development needs.
Saonu said he had given a 100-day action plan to Ipambonj to implement and the plans are:

  • Take stock of the financial status of the province;
  • reinvigorate the public service at all levels;
  • enhance technical capacity of the provincial government;
  • restore control over the administration; and,
  • Restore respect for authority.

“The 100-day activity plan generally focuses on taking control of and putting into order basic areas of government structure,” he said.
The plan would also look at governor’s office administration and operations, provincial administration’s operations, provincial government’s business investments, district administrations and the 33 local level government administrations.
