Savings society wants more youths to join

NAMBAWAN Savings and Loans Society (NSLS) wants to get more young people to become members of the society, chief executive officer John Solok says.
Solok said this during the society’s annual general meeting in Port Moresby on Wednesday.
“For the business, the young generation are key for our long term success because in 5-10 years’ time, they will be in their middle of their careers so engaging with young people early allows us to make a significant impact on getting people to start responsibly saving,” he said.
Solok said generally, savings and loans societies tended to have a fairly aged group of people contributing.
“These are people who in about 10 years will be moving into retirement,” he said.
“We believe that the market and the future of the business is built on young people.”
