Scheme graduates 83

EIGHTY-three people throughout Lihir, New Ireland, have completed and obtained their personal viability business scheme (PVBS) certificates.
Their graduation took place in Londolovit town last Thursday.
Among them were 23 participants who completed their level four PV training and the rest obtained their certificates in levels one and two on lifelong learning.
Representatives from Bank South Pacific and Micro Bank Nationwide attended the event.
“It is a thrill to see bank accounts established and cheque books given out,” Global University of Life Long Learning president Dr Richard Teare said.
He said in the United Kingdom where he was based, “there is a huge issue of people going to formal education but 50% are not ready for formal employment”.
He believed the future was in line with what PVBS was doing, “people want to become self-reliant and financially independent and PVBS does this”.
“PNG is one of many nations that is joining a global movement, it is the ability to see wealth in people.”
