A NEW primary school in Madang’s Raicoast has received K300,000 for the construction of a staff office.
The money was made available through Ramu Nickel’s community development fund (CDF) scheme under its community affairs department.
Under the CDF scheme, three landonwer associations received K300,000 each last year for infrastructure development in the communities.
Ramu Nickel community affairs liaison officer Tonny Kuipa said the annual allocation for the association would be honoured for four years and if the funds were used wisely for the people, “we will consider increasing the annual allocations”.
He thanked the coastal inland pipeline landowner association chairman Steven Saul for putting into good use the money to build the K50,000 staff office for Badiat Primary School.
Saul thanked Ramu Nickel and the school staff who had worked with him to identify the much needed service in the community.
“We are looking forward to more partnership and to receive more funds to complete other projects in other schools in the area ,” Saul said, urging the villagers to appreciate and take good care of the properties.
