STUDENTS and teachers of Mosa High School in Talasea, West New Britain (WNB), now have a water supply and new teachers’ houses funded by the provincial service improvement programme (PSIP).
State Enterprises Minister Sasindran Muthuvel said K2 million was budgeted to build more infrastructure for the school.
Muthuvel, who is former WNB Governor said the school was being used as a pilot project due to the huge population in the Mosa local level government (LLG).
“The provincial government will also look at beefing up the other recently established high schools like Iboki and Cenaka high schools,” he said.
Both Muthuvel and Talasea MP and WNB Governor Francis Maneka said they would ensure that standard classrooms and infrastructure were built for schools in the district.
They said the PNG DataCo undersea cable that landed in the province would greatly improve students’ learning.
Maneka told people, who were squatting on the school land to vacate it and give way for more infrastructure to be built.
Mosa High School head teacher Len Yakai said the water supply was a pressing need of the school.
“I thank the provincial government for it,” he said.
“I have big dreams and one of them is to build another 26 classrooms and work towards making Mosa High School excel academically.”
