THE United Church’s (Morobe) first education institution Emmanuel Elementary School stands ready to support the provincial government’s education reforms, says head teacher Felix Vincent.
Vincent made the remarks during the launching of the school’s new uniforms on Tuesday.
He said with Governor Ginson Saonu’s “Kisim Bek Morobe” slogan with education reforms concerning early childhood and elementary stages, the school was ready to implement them.
Vincent said to complement the provincial government’s education reforms, the school’s plan was to register with the Department of Education and also look for a new site to expand the institution.
“The enrolment and infrastructure development plans for the school will be put in place once we achieve our plans in registering with the Department of Education and having a new site,” he said.
Vincent said being a private school, most of the plans would not be realised before the end of the year and appealed to Saonu and Lae MP John Rosso for support.
He said the school needed to be registered as early as possible and it needed to allow public schools to take in elementary two students from the school to continue into grade three.
Saonu said the school would be included in Morobe’s education reform programme.
