A PORT MORESBY schoolboy won money from The National newspaper’s masthead competition which he says will be used to buy stationery for school.
Kelly Kuloi Jr, a grade nine student at the Waigani Christian Academy said he was excited at winning on his first try.
He said getting ready for school was his aim over the coming weeks and buying stationery was one task he wanted to do and his K250 windfall would help him do that.
Kuloi said he learnt about the competition last year but waited.
Meanwhile, Lae’s Jack Dick a former national volleyball and AFL representative was over the moon to win his third masthead competition prize.
Dick said he would use his prize money to support his 24-hour coffee and snacks sales at Kamkumung.
He said entering the competition had been good for him as this was his third time to win.
Dick, who is a regular reader of The National, said he had also won several times when the paper had run the NRL tips competition.
