Schools discuss performance

Education

A week-long conference for the education secretaries and senior staff of Catholic diocese in Papua New Guinea has given many participants insight into how to plan and work together to improve their schools’ performances.
Marianville Secondary School principal Monica Keanga while highlighting how the school had improved in its yearly performances, said it was all about planning and working together.
“Nothing is secret in this, we encourage our students every time to respect each other, follow the Catholic school’s principles and work together,” she told the participants.
Keanga said every student attending Marianville must respect and the teachers and principal’s duty was to ensure these were practiced at all times.
She said the school had 34 staff, 930 female students, five grade nine and 10 classes, and four grade 11 and 12 classes.
Keanga said though there were differences among teachers, they still upheld schools’ principles and that helped them to continue to perform well every year.
She encouraged the participants to do the same in their schools.
