Schools should listen to Education Dept

Letters

DESPITE the advice on school fees, one school in Wewak, East Sepik, is charging its students K200 or at least half of that before students attend classes.
It appears that schools are on a different track than the Education Department.
The relevant authorities should look into this and make sure policies and guidelines are followed to prevent confusion by parents and the public.
As stated in the Education Department website: “Education is a child’s right.”
The message is clear, no school administration is to refuse any child from enrolling over non-payment of fees.
