THE National Airports Corporation (NAC) recently launched its LED (light emitting diode) digital screen at Jackson Airport’s domestic terminal in Port Moresby.
NAC managing director Rex Kiponge said the digital screen was one of several improvement initiatives to transform airports from a point of transit to point of destination.
“It will be used to display airline flight information, community and aviation security announcements, safety rules as well as commercial advertisements,” he said.
He said with the continuous changes in global technology and emerging marketing trends, NAC wanted to ensure that it was keeping up with modern technology and trends to improve efficiency and productivity.
Kiponge said NAC was moving away from the traditional ways of doing business to areas that could generate revenue by maximising available resources.
“The LED digital screen will optimise the passenger and user experience at the Jackson domestic terminal.”
He said NAC plans to install another LED digital screen outside the terminal.
