Papua New Guinea nines international Stanford Talita has signed with Wynnum Manly Seagulls for the remainder of the Hostplus Cup season.
Talita joins the Gulls from the 2020 Digicel Cup champions Hela Wigmen where he was their co-captain.
The 26-year-old centre has been one of the leading players in the Digicel Cup and represented PNG in the Nines Rugby League World Cup in Australia in 2019.
Seagulls chief executive Hanan Laban said Talita will be one to watch this season.
“Stanford has been a star in the Digicel Cup and we are very fortunate to bring him to Wynnum,” he said.
“He has a good character and possesses strong leadership skills, leading Hela Wigmen to a title during 2020.
“Stanford has the potential to make a positive impact at BMD Kougari Oval.
“I can’t wait to see him on the field.”
Talita will look to form a strong combination with fellow Papua New Guineans and Wynnum Manly pair David Mead and Epel Kapinias.
Reigning Hostplus Cup runners-up Seagulls are in eighth spot on the 14-team ladder, having recorded two wins and as many losses after round four. – seagulls
