A WOMAN is in court accused of wounding her husband’s second wife in Port Moresby last month.
Committal Court Magistrate Paul Puri Nii read the charge to Delina Pasa and adjourned the case to May 9 for mention.
Police Prosecutor Sgt Peter Samghy informed the court that the case could be adjourned for a month to give time to the investigator to complete the files.
Pasa is the first wife and the complainant, Ruth Yange, is the second wife of Francis Kon.
Police alleged that on March 19 at around 7.30pm Pasa had 10 frozen chickens so she decided to share them among family and friends.
While dropping off the chicken with her family she decided to drop off two chickens for Yange and her kids.
She then headed to the market to buy vegetables, while there Yange came from behind her and stabbed her on the ear and her back with a small knife.
Bystanders rushed in and stopped the commotion as Yange was bleeding heavily from the stabbing.
On March 20, Yange with the help from her family, reported the matter to the police.
