A LOCALLY owned security firm employing 500-plus workers opened its new head office in Port Moresby on Good Friday.
Koli Security Solutions celebrated Easter by opening a newly built head office, which will be the centre of its operations for Port Moresby and Lae.
Managing director and founder Alex Penda told The National that one of his greatest inspirations was to create opportunities for Papua New Guineans.
“I started my journey into business at a very young age with no money in my pocket,” he said.
“When I first started a cleaning service and a construction company, I did it with a group of friends. I wanted to employ Papua New Guineans,” Penda said.
He said the new office would boost the company’s operations and performance.
Penda said the firm had come a long way since 2015 and the opening of the new head office symbolised a decade of hard work and sacrifice.
“This should inspire others to achieve big things in life.
“I have put in a lot of effort and time into this to see my staff now operating from their own desks inside an air conditioned building.
“This achievement can be a testimony to any Papua New Guinean to continue chasing their dreams.”
The firm recently received an International Standard Certificate for meeting globally recognised standards in its operations.
The company was established in 2015 with eight security guards, a firearm and one vehicle used to provide security at PNG Power substations in Port Moresby.
Its other clients includes secondary schools, Gerehu, Jubilee, Badihagwa, Jubilee, Tokarara, and Butuka.
Security services include static guards, video surveillance and armed escort services.
