Seeking EC’s clarification

I HAVE a question regarding pre-election activities such as hosting of sports tournaments, funding of church activities and other social activities.
Can the Electoral Commission clarify if such practices are against the law?
This practice is growing roots and is becoming a part of our culture.
Candidates use such approaches to win favours.
Such action influences people and prevents them from seeing the big picture.
We cannot advocate for free, fair and safe elections while leaving things open for candidates to influence people in this manner.
