Seligele Eels: We’re here for the experience, not to win

THE Seligele Eels, from Gabone village in Hula, are determined to show their talent in the Southern Nines at Bava Park.
Eels’ Jerry Verave said Brian Bell Group of Companies had given the team the opportunity to wear company colours at the rugby league tournament.
“I thank the company management for allowing us to use the jerseys which is morale booster for the village youths,” Verave said.
“We all contributed to pay our affiliation fee. This is our first time to participate in the tournament. We are not here to win but to expose our skills and experience what it’s like to compete at this level.
“This tournament is good for us as it promotes friendship and unity in the true Papuan spirit. We love to play and enjoy it without fear of harassment or intimidation which is great.
“For us, it is good coming here.
“Playing on this turf will be a memorable experience.”
