Senior lawyer in court over false docs

A SENIOR lawyer has appeared in court charged with fraudulently uttering documents ensuring changes to directors and shareholders of a company.
Rio Fiocco Remo, 57, a naturalised citizen, appeared before the Committal Court at Waigani to face a charges stemming from fraudulent uttering documents nearly three decades ago to effect change of directors and shareholders of Hitron Pty Ltd.
It was alleged that on Oct 18, 1989, Fiocco, who was then employed by Warner Shand Lawyers, wrote a letter to the Office of National Investment Development Authority (ONIDA), now referred to as the Investment Promotion Authority (IPA), on behalf of his clients Lindsay Jorgensen and Anne Margaret Ames naming them as new directors and shareholders of the mentioned company.
The letter was attached with two forms, form 43 and 44 and bearing the name of Jorgensen and Ames as directors and shareholders allegedly replacing legitimate owners, shareholders and directors, Ato Bernadette Adams and Martin Birius Landu of the said company.
