WOMEN’S National Soccer League club Sepik are eager to continue from last weekend’s wins over Tusbab Laidamon (3-1) and Rainy Lae (6-1) in the Northern Conference.
After drawing their opening match with Markham Raings and losing to Bara in the second round, Sepik have hit a purple patch and now occupy third spot in the conference.
Sepik coach Gorden Torovu blamed the first two results on the lack of rest after they had travelled to Lae, Morobe, from Wewak, East Sepik.
“After our first two matches, I worked with my players to build self-confidence as this level of competition was new to them,” he said.
“Most of them are futsal players who we have introduced to 11-a-side football.
“We’ve combined well with our Lae-based players who have helped the side make a big improvement over the last two rounds.
“We are working on set pieces which give us a better chance at scoring.
“We’ll work more on our coordination and I’m confident that we’ll give our opposition a run for their money.”
