Despite losing Game Three of the 2021 State of Origin series 20-18 at Cbus Super Stadium on the Gold Coast last night, the NSW Blues were by far the dominant team this year winning the opening two fixtures by a 76-0 before falling at final hurdle, a chance to score a series whitewash for the first time since 2000. Queensland, led by a two-try effort from Ben Hunt, ensured the Maroons would not be embarrassed for a third time on home soil. Covid-19 lockdowns ensured no matches were hosted in New South Wales.
