PAPUA New Guinea senior men’s soccer coach Flemming Serritslev is currently on a scouting mission in Madang.
The coach arrived last Saturday to watch the pre-season finals but they were postponed to next week because some games were not completed.
While in Madang, he told the coaches and players that his visit was part of his responsibility to visit local associations and see talents outside Port Moresby and Lae.
He said there were many more talents outside in rural associations than in urban associations.
For Tusbab Blue Kumul FC official Conrad Wadunah, the visit by such PNGFA official was a long time coming.
“This is the first time in the history of Madang Soccer Association, a coach had to travel to Madang for a visit which was highly appreciated by soccer players and officials.”
Wadunah added that if PNGFA executive or general secretary Dimirit Mileng paid regular visits to member associations such as Madang, they could share their grievances and that would help strengthen the management of local associations.
