Service delivery

Letters

PLEASE allow me to raise my concerns regarding the performance of the newly elected MPs who are using the political arena as a training field while most important services are being overlooked.
The silent majority want to see tangible development and services from their MPs.
The District Services Improvement Programme (DSIP) funds are allocated for service delivery but some bureaucrats are using it to pay for travelling allowances and accommodation for officers in cities and towns with inflated hire car rentals for their self-benefits.
These are happening at the expense of the silent majority who need basic services such as roads, bridges, schools and health infrastructural developments.
Some elected members have announced their five-year development plan with the intention of using it to guide them in the delivery of services to the rural population.
However, what is on paper is very different from reality because we still see little progress on the ground.
For example, Daulo was a prominent coffee-producing district but that is no longer the case.
I urge the local MP to deliver basic services to the people of Daulo district.
