Settlers getting free pass on water

Letters

THE Erima settlement in NCD has been without water for a week now. Could Eda Ranu and Erima Water Committee explain to us why our taps have been left dry?
If it’s do with water payments, then I suggest we do away with common water tap system.
I have seen that common water tap system is not helpful because
it’s just making people lazy and relying on others to pay monthly payments.
By reverting to the old system where water is connected to each household, it would assist Eda Ranu greatly for Eda Ranu will know which household is faithfully
paying its water bills and which are not.
In that way, Eda Ranu can close the taps of those households that are not paying up and let those
that are paying to have access to water.
By disconnecting taps of residents not paying up, will instil some logic into their brains to take their responsibilities in paying up their water bill more seriously.
In this way, it will benefit both the water users and Eda Ranu.
