Commission acting chief commissioner Captain Aria Bouraga said the Beechcraft King Air B200C aircraft had seven persons on board – two crew members and five passenger.

Captain Bouraga said: “The commission was notified by one of its employee of the accident through a phone call at 12:58pm following the accident.”
The crew reported that they became aware of an unsafe landing gear condition in flight and in coordination with ground services, attempted to rectify the issue, but the issue persisted.
They subsequently requested for Jackson Emergency Services to standby for their landing.
NiuSky Pacific Limited information indicated that the aircraft landed at 12.51pm.
The crew reported that immediately after landing, the aircraft sustained nose landing gear collapse and subsequent damage to the aircraft.
Bouraga said the commission immediately sent a team to the airport where they conducted on-site evidence gathering and assessment activities. Initial on-site assessments determined that there was damage sustained by all propeller blades and the nose landing gear door.
He said pursuant to the Civil Aviation Act, the accident site and all related evidence was under the jurisdiction of the commission.
He appealed to all, especially, interested parties and persons, not to interfere with the evidence and the investigation. He said a full investigation would be conducted as required under the Act and in accordance with Annex 13 Convention on International Civil Aviation.
