A WOMAN was charged with murder in a committal court in Waigani in which a woman was killed after she was found in a compromising position with a married man in Port Moresby last month.
Magistrate Paul Puri Nii read the charge to Kepes Bus, from Mul-Baiyer’s Kuntum village in Western Highlands, and fixed June 8 for mention. On March 29, at about 6pm, Kepes was allegedly seen with Poline James at the Erima flyover bridge.
Earlier at 5pm, James requested to see Kepes on some personal matters when James met a relative at Gordon market.
James and her relative then went and looked for Kepes in Erima.
They met her at a store beside the fly over bridge and then Kepes took Poline to her residence in Faule Settlement.
At about 9pm, both Poline and Kepes were seen drinking beer with two other men in the settlement. They drank till late when the wife (Lona Tom) of one of the men came searching for her husband.
On March 30, at about 2am, Lona found her husband having sex with Poline in a drain. She then fought with her husband and stabbed Poline who collapsed and died.
Kepes was later called in for questioning by police and she denied everything about Poline going with her for a drink and that she was not at the drinking place. She was later arrested, charged and detained as a co-accused of Lona.
