Sex on campus exposed

Letters

Sexual impropriety between staff and student at the University of Papua New Guinea and elsewhere has been in the spotlight lately.
This unethical activity undermines confidence in our education system.
It also undermines fairness when grades or promotions are influenced by sexual favours.
Ultimately, the quality of education is lowered and deserving staff and students are hard done by.
While the despicable situation at UPNG has been reported, the same is true for other universities and need to be exposed and exorcised.
For instance, at the PNG University of Technology, a prominent staff member has been banging the Christian drum for all to see but his actions speak otherwise.
This repugnant individual engaged in an extramarital affair with a married staff member and caused the breakup of her marriage.
His next target was a student who is now pregnant.
He is not fit to work at the university.
Predators should be exposed and either sacked or jailed.
They are wolves in sheepskin who hide behind the veil of God and the church.
The Bibles says, “What you do in the dark shall be exposed in the light of day”.
For a leader in academia and the church to break the commandment on adultery is shameful and unforgiveable.
The acting vice-chancellor and the Unitech council know that such unsavoury behaviour hurts the integrity of Unitech.
To do nothing is to condone the behaviour.
