SHADOW attorney-general and Justice Minister Keith Iduhu has commended the PNG Law Society and its President Hubert Namani for showing concern for the country by organising the rule of law march in Port Moresby on Friday.
The Hiri Koiari MP said: “It was truly remarkable to see many of my fellow colleagues take a stand against many of the injustices facing our people today.
“Not only are they lawyers but they are tax-paying professionals that contribute to the development of this country.
“They deserve to express their dissatisfaction with how things are going. “I fully endorse the sentiments expressed by president Namani, and I believe much of what he said perfectly encapsulates the feeling of concern, disenfranchisement and frustration our citizens have with our executive leadership.
“Namani’s comments relating to Black Wednesday and the Enga massacre and the flagrant disregard for the rule of law captures the breakdown of our social values and systems.
“I also endorse his comments on the mysterious Gold Refinery Bill that has been shrouded with secrecy and vague details.” Iduhu also cautioned the Government against amending the Constitution too often.
