A SECONDARY school in the National Capital District is using its rich cultural programmes to raise money for school projects.
St Charles Lwanga Secondary deputy principal Bainam Bani told The National that the fees collected would be used to buy a bus.
Bani said the school had three successful shows.
She said funds raised through them had helped the school buy a public audio system, a 40-litre water cooler that had four taps and a standby generator.
“The school had its first show in 2012 with the aim of fundraising was to buy a public audio. We achieved that,” she said.
“The second cultural show held in 2014 was aimed at raising funds and buy a water cooler. We achieved it.
“The third cultural show was organised in 2016 aimed at raising funds and buy a standby generator for the school.

“This year we aimed to raise K70,000 to buy a coaster bus for the students and staff.”
Tickets were sold for K10 each.
“The show was more than a mere fundraising when people from all over the 21 provinces tuned in, singing and dancing in their traditional attires.”
